Principal Stylist & Planner
In her early 20’s, some well-timed career advice from Sir Richard Branson took Jac Bowie away from the friendly skies and propelled her to to produce high profile vintage styled events around the world including The Burlesque Ball, Miss Burlesque Australia and The Ruby Revue.
Throughout her career as a theatre producer, she’s worked with iconic organisations such as Cirque Du Soleil, Spiegelworld, Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras and bought exhibitions “to life” for the Museum of Contemporary Art for famous artist Yinka Shonibare and iconic photographer Annie Leibowitz. Also along the way she’s produced entertainment and events for festivals, high-end clients such as the MoMA New York, Pacha Moscow, and was Tour Manager for the controversial Wolf of Wall Street, Jordan Belfort.
After 10 years producing in the arts, she later had an idea for a fresh approach to networking.
The concept was simple: Attract the right women, put them in the right space, and allow them to connect socially. If they hit it off, they would find a way to work together. She called it Business In Heels and after three events was approached to license the event to another producer in Melbourne. In three weeks there were 15 branches and 18months later there were over 50 branches franchised across Australia, New Zealand, Spain, United States, United Arab Emirates, Singapore, Nepal, Canada and Thailand.
After selling Business in Heels to a Franchisee in 2014 and marrying her farmer husband, Jac moved to Geelong and purchased local business Oh Perfect Day in 2017 (now Darling Don’t Panic). This business has enabled her to combine her creative talents with her passion for events and entertainment. Outside of her work at Darling Don’t Panic, Jac occasionally works in radio (either on-air or in digital) and helps other women in business.
